Embracing Being a Young Bi-racial Person of Color: Cultivating Pride in Being Racially Diverse. (Now Enrolling Participants... Starting January 4, 2020).
This group provides psychotherapy support and psychosocial skill building for young people experiencing stress and anxiety as they attempt to manage the realities associated with being a bi-racial person of color. The social injustices, racial tensions and isolation accompanying COVID 19 creates the need for extra support to cultivate pride in being racially diverse.
Group session topics will provide interventions and coping strategies for the following: • Managing race related stress • Self esteem • Social dynamics • The role race plays in your household and family • Implicit family rules • Racial identity • Managing relationships • Interacting with family • Emotional distance between family members • Healing from traumatic experiences • Identifying ways to create community in a virtual world • Relating to peers • Social media messages

This group provides psychotherapy support and psychosocial skill building for young people experiencing stress and anxiety as they attempt to manage the realities associated with being a LBGTQ+ person of color. The social injustices, racial tensions and isolation accompanying COVID 19 creates the need for extra support to cultivate pride in being a member of the LGBTQ+ community of color.
